Dr. Paulette L. Burgess, A Baltimore native, was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She obtained her degrees from Coppin State University, Johns Hopkins University and her Doctorate of Education, from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Burgess' love for education led her into the Baltimore City School System where she worked for over thirty years. Her years were spent as a teacher, department head, site administrator, assistant principal and principal.
As a retiree, Dr. Burgess now shares her time and talents with her community. She is an active member of New Psalmist Baptist Church and has participated in many of their summer youth camp programs. Dr. Burgess is an avid citizen, as she has say on many Boards. She is a former board member to the Maryland Foster Care Review and the Baltimore Child Abuse Center, just to name a few. She is currently on the board of Roberta's House.
In her leisure time, she enjoys supporting her organizations. She is a Silver Star member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Johns Hopkins University Chapter of Psi Delta Kappa, Nova Southeastern University Alumni Association, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, The Baltimore Chapter of the Links, Inc. and the National Chapter of the Carats, Inc.
Dr. Burgess is the devoted wife of Gary Burgess, together they have two children and four grandchildren.
