GROWTH AND EXPANSION
Roberta’s House has over 700 trained volunteers and a growing staff of professionals to carry out the grief center’s mission. The Board of Directors, along with the help from Maryland Legislative leaders, foundations and the community, spearheaded a capital campaign to generate 12 million dollars for the construction of its new build. It is slated for completion in the year of 2020. This 22,000 square foot state of the art grief center will be the first of its kind in the nation. The new expansion will include art activity rooms, a library resource center, a multi-purpose room, a theatre, a fitness room, a game room, an expression room, conference rooms, family counseling rooms, and administrative offices. The grief center currently serves an average of 2000 families through its 13 grief support programs annually. The new center is being built on the landmark of row homes at 928 E. North Avenue, where March Funeral Home was originally founded in 1957.

History of Roberta’s House
Roberta’s House was founded in June of 2007 in memory of the late Julia Roberta March, by her children. Julia Roberta March, was the matriarch and co-founder of the March Funeral Homes in Baltimore, Maryland. She and her husband, William C. March, were successful business owners that began in 1957 and was well known for their compassion and giving spirit. Thousands of families were served out of their small row- house funeral home because of their commitment to providing dignified, affordable services to low income families.
