BECOME A VOLUNTEER!

Interested in volunteering or learning more about our opportunities? Enter your contact information below and our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you.

Roberta’s House’s volunteers are a wonderful gift to the community. Our volunteers are at the heart of all that we do to help and support survivors through their grief journey.  Our team consists of a dedicated group of volunteers who come from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.

All of our volunteers share a unique ability to be present and listen with their hearts to a child or adult who’ve lost someone they love. Our volunteers give their time, talent, energy and support to help create a safe place where grieving children, teens, adults, and families can come together to heal.

WHY VOLUNTEER!

BUILDS COMMUNITY

Volunteers make a difference when they give back to the community. According to the Corporation for National & Community Service, you strengthen your community and your social network when you volunteer. You make connections with the people you are helping, and you cultivate friendships with other volunteers.

EXPERIENCE: BY WORKING DIRECTLY WITH SURVIVORS

The volunteer training offers Licensed mental health providers and trained volunteers the opportunity to work directly with survivors through the healing process. By donating your time and expertise, you can expand your knowledge in grief programs and make a real difference for a surviving family member or loved one.

INCREASES SOCIALIZING

Socially, the benefits of volunteering show up quickly and have long-term effects. Social interaction improves mental and physical health, according to Psychology Today. The benefits of consistent socializing include better brain function and lower risk for depression and anxiety.

BUILDS BONDS, CREATES FRIENDS

Volunteering creates stronger bonds between friends, family, and coworkers. People build closer relationships, better connections, and more powerful attachments to people when they work together. If you feel the need for deeper connections with other people, try volunteering at Roberta’s House.

CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING

Employee and organization volunteering programs allow workers to feel that the work they do is not only contributing to the overall success of the company, but that it also helps a charitable cause that is personally important to them. This sense of purpose can lead to increased productivity and higher workplace morale.
