Healing entire communities is a charge of Roberta’s House. As a trusted source to the community, Roberta’s House equips entire communities with the tools it needs to heal. support. At Roberta’s House, we educate and teach community leaders, ministers, individuals and professionals how to help those who have been impacted by grief. Roberta’s House offers grief trainings several times throughout the year. Our licensed bereavement counselors and trained volunteers are people who understand what you are going through and want to help.
Crisis Response
The traumatic loss or sudden death of a loved one impacts entire communities. Roberta’s House offers support and interventions to individuals, children-teens, and families in the communities which need us most when crises occurs. Our crisis response program provides comfort, support and resources to entire communities for coping with crime-related grief and trauma. Through this program, Roberta’s House offers assistance to adults who must identify their deceased loved-one. We also offer referral services when additional support is needed. Roberta’s House continues to advocate and check in with families following a homicide to see if additional support is needed and to learn how families are adjusting.
Professional Workshops
Roberta’s House offers a variety of intensive workshops and training opportunities for professionals interested in learning more about how to best support individuals, families and children who have experienced loss. These trainings and workshops are built on the belief that in the crisis of loss lies an opportunity to develop and strengthen the coping skills and understanding how to turn grief to hope.
Bereavement Ministry Training
The Bereavement Ministry Training for clergy will help them to serve families who have lost a loved one to death. The members of the ministry are trained to successfully implement a mission to give comfort and support to the grieving families in the community by hearing their thoughts and sharing their tears. The Bereavement Ministry Program provides everything needed to begin and nurture a church-based program of bereavement care for individuals and families in meeting the needs of those in your communities who experience loss.
